MC Squared Energy Services, LLC Announces Acquisition of Illinois Retail Power Business From RRI Energy, Inc. Subsidiary

Accelerates Growth of Chicago-Based Electricity Supplier
CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - December 1, 2009) - MC Squared Energy Services, LLC (mc2) announced today it has reached an agreement with RRI Energy Solutions East, a subsidiary of RRI Energy, Inc. (NYSE: RRI) to purchase substantially all of the assets and liabilities associated with RRI Energy's retail power business in Illinois. The transaction includes the retail customer agreements and supporting wholesale supply positions. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The transaction includes over 350 service accounts with a forecasted load of 750,000,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity over the remaining term of the customer agreements. The agreements will be integrated into mc2's Illinois-based retail electricity supply business.
